number 21

After discussing the theory of 5 basic human needs (Survival, Power, Belonging, Freedom, and Fun) we want to explore what needs we are filling with our choices. Write a list of things you choose to do (both daily chores like getting dressed and eating lunch, as well as more specific choices like playing guitar or hockey) and under each item use the basic needs list to explore WHY you do what you do? Is your clothing choice for belonging to a group or freedom to stand out? Is skipping class a freedom of choice or a lack of power (success)? Are any of your choices a "negative" way to fulfill your needs? How are you getting "dirty" power? How about "dirty" belonging? Think about your behaviours that others may disapprove of... which needs are they meeting for you?

1) I get dressed because i want to look good and fresh everyday, i get (power) with friends and (belonging) with friends.
2) I eat food because it keeps you healthy, hydrated, and keeps you going.(survival)
3) I play soccer every other day at the park(fun) and also (belonging)
4) I listen to music all day because, some song lyrics are deep and touch you, gives you motivation as well.(belonging)
5) I come to school to get an education, with out education cant get too far in life. (Power) (survival).
6) Chilling with friends, or drinking on the weekend (freedom) (fun).
7) Chilling wit friends at school (belonging)
8) Beefing with people you don't know. (power)(fun).
9) Hanging out with the family (belonging).
10) Go to gym daily (power) (belonging)

i think skipping is a lack of power because it is pointless and you will regret it at the end of the year when you fail. Oneway of fulfilling my need of power in a negative way is to jump people, gets you power but it is a negative way too get it. A way of getting dirty power is bullying someone.Dirty belonging is way for a the weak to get stronger, i would fight to get a belonging.
