After discussing the theory of 5 basic human needs (Survival, Power, Belonging, Freedom, and Fun) we want to explore what needs we are filling with our choices. Write a list of things you choose to do (both daily chores like getting dressed and eating lunch, as well as more specific choices like playing guitar or hockey) and under each item use the basic needs list to explore WHY you do what you do? Is your clothing choice for belonging to a group or freedom to stand out? Is skipping class a freedom of choice or a lack of power (success)? Are any of your choices a "negative" way to fulfill your needs? How are you getting "dirty" power? How about "dirty" belonging? Think about your behaviours that others may disapprove of... which needs are they meeting for you?
1) I get dressed because i want to look good and fresh everyday, i get (power) with friends and (belonging) with friends.
2) I eat food because it keeps you healthy, hydrated, and keeps you going.(survival)
3) I play soccer every other day at the park(fun) and also (belonging)
4) I listen to music all day because, some song lyrics are deep and touch you, gives you motivation as well.(belonging)
5) I come to school to get an education, with out education cant get too far in life. (Power) (survival).
6) Chilling with friends, or drinking on the weekend (freedom) (fun).
7) Chilling wit friends at school (belonging)
8) Beefing with people you don't know. (power)(fun).
9) Hanging out with the family (belonging).
10) Go to gym daily (power) (belonging)
i think skipping is a lack of power because it is pointless and you will regret it at the end of the year when you fail. Oneway of fulfilling my need of power in a negative way is to jump people, gets you power but it is a negative way too get it. A way of getting dirty power is bullying someone.Dirty belonging is way for a the weak to get stronger, i would fight to get a belonging.

number 20
We want to move from the wide world into exploring our own cultures (school, municipal, religious, home) so write a blog post connecting Sullivan in any way you can to the themes from Rwanda or your other chosen conflict/incident. Some questions you may want to consider: How did the two (or more) groups become divided or chosen originally? How do groups get chosen at Sullivan? What outside influences increased/decreased the tension between the groups? Are there "outside influences" on social circles here at school? What sort of things do different groups value? What do they describe as the reason for disliking another group? How much of their opinion of "others" is based on fact or personal experience? How much is based on rumours, half truths, and propaganda? How do these messages spread through Sullivan? What stops students from learning more about others rather than believing what they hear or read? How did you choose your friends and "not friends"?
People usually divide groups with same coloured people usually but not always. They get chosen by how popular the person is and who they chill with outside of school and who they have for back if anything happens. Belgium's made it worse for tutsi's and hutu's by pressuring the. It is like that at school as well because friends pressure others made er friends to do stuff they don't wanna do, or like if their relative doesn't like the person that means u cant like them either, thats what happens in crew's as well if one person has beef with someone in the crew the whole crew has beef with them. Yes, there are outside influences on social circles at school, your friends from different school could tell you to do something to someone and u really got no choice, you have do it because the person is a childhood friend of your's. Some groups value religion some other groups value popularity, alot of groups value alot other things aswell. Groups may dislike others because someone in the other group said something about someone in the crews girlfriend or said something to a person in the crew aswell. Not much is based on personal experience, its more based on a friend of your's or someone in your family has trouble with others. Depends on the person because a lot of people just get to the people that are saying shit, and get the cause of the problem and confront the person, some people will talk it out and drop it but others will just start a fight right there. Messages spread through social media or people spreading rumours or sometimes the person tell the wrong person and it gets to they person they talking about. Some "friends" that want to see a fight they would pressure you to fight and a lot of people would peer pressure you, or if there are girls around a guys test goes up, they would do it make themselves not look scared or people do it to get their rep higher. I chose my friends that i have from childhood, and chose others from what i know about them,if they are going to stick their neck out if something would happen, and also how they loyal and trustworthy they are, like if you tell them something and they would keep it to their self.
My personal story is once someone told me that someone was talking shit about me and i got mad and i just confronted the person and they said they were not talking about me i got made and i punched him and we fought there.

human violence story
The Jay Story
three brown men, born in the poor side of Surrey Bc, in a average payroll family. Jay, Nav and Sukh the cousin of Nav, but regardless they were all three the best of friends. Nav and Sukh had the hustling mentality, so they got involved "the game" they started off with selling bags of weed, to selling ounces of weed. Eventually they made it to cocaine, they started flipping bricks after bricks. Jay felt left out and he got involved with them but he was far behind them, because Sukh had become the kingpin and Nav was right there beside him. Jealousy hit Jay, and this is The Jay Story.
Jay killed his own man Nav for a whole brick, lined him up and gave him the whole clip. He said he wanted to rise up, not to mention Nav was fucking his old bitch, but Nav wasnt a shooter he just flipped bricks for his cousin Sukh. three brother's with a dream that plotted on going rich, started as a teen, but Nav and Sukh got on quick. Jealousy was the reason Nav got left all stiff. Got Nav's mom crying to him, he hug her tell her whoever did this he gonna do em', from there it was silence condone violence, but they killed her only son. When he said it she just nodded and he told her that he got he, he had the nerve to carry the casket, strapped up before he went he had to carry is ratchet, he was nervous, walking like he tryna carry him faster.
Next week he at the mall, rollie on his arm, two gold digging bitches with him, laughing, having a ball, Nav's cousin Sukh, Sukh couldnt believe it, same guy asked him for a front last weekend, walking around the mall Louie V on and bags of Gucci. Jay, he aint worried cause he strapped up. Seven days running he already turned it up, he got Sukh burning up, he ready to ride. He knows Jay's a killer he ready to die. Sukh thinking about putting a check on his head, but he cant! cause Jay had killed his first cousin. If he let somebody else do it, it wont mean nothing, he wanna see him bleeding, he wanna see him gasp, wanna watch him die slow like he suffering from cancer. Feel like jay did it, but he dont know for sure, so he gunna let it burn until it is confirmed.
Couple months fly by, Jay on the highrise, started flippin now. He got the bricks and bricks and he built his fortress. Sukh still gettin it, always been the the top guy. Sukh on Main st just flippin his private stock, Sitting in the minivan with his hood on. Jay rode up, sukh had the gut feeling that it was the guy that took out his first cousin. 44 in his hand, about to make the hood rock. Jay slippin, Sukh dippin, Walk up on his car like" whats poppin lil nigga". Jay looking shokced, his glock in his golvebox, Sukh sayd "you still need that work you asked for?" dropped it all on his lap it was four and half raw. Jay he looking crazy, he knew it was his last starw, and sukh just let it go , put his brains on the dashboard.

song relating to rwanda
I chose this song because it relates to the genocide, the song is about the genocide, because of all the violence and the discrimination. Having hatred in their own religion just like the hutu's and tutsi's they hated each other. Many people in Rwanda grew up in poor family just like 50 cent in his movie, and didnt have much, his mother died when he was a kid because his mom was a local drug dealer and the the main dealer shot her, pretty much he had to take care of himself. The path he has chosen to support himself was the gang and dealing life... which clearly led him to trouble and near death experiences. In this time he turned to rap, he rapped about his life as a child, the trouble he went through for how many years trying to support himself, the drug dealing and crime life he has spent and how he was trying to escape it but couldn't. With the support of his girlfriend he pursues his career of music, which had its obsticles, his past life had followed him, the people he had associated his past life with, were trying to sabotage his rap career. During 50 cent preparations for his debut performance, Majestic comes to the show to plan a killing on 50, 50 cent was aware of this, so he had organize safety and had worn a bulletproof vest. Majestic was backstage with a knife, as soon as he was about to pull out the knife he got shot. 50 then walked onto the stage taking off his bulletproof vest because now he has nothing to worry about or be afraid.
I chose this movie because it relates to violence and hate between one another. It shows that even your own people can turn on you and murder you for power and money. It is ok to be violent sometimes, but at the right times i think, but not unnecessary moments. I think it relates to hotel rwanda because everyone has a bad childhood all the children, it has alot of violence so does get rich or die tryin, killing and very gruesome. The reason I thnk that the world is full of people who kills others because of their nationality, race, religious belief, and hatred.
